Review of: Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort

The Trump Taj Mahal is striking to behold and my spouse insisted that I go
in with him to try his luck. Harold gave me $5.00 to educate myself at the
penny slots . I learned rather quickly that the Donald is always one step ahead of the players. In my case, I wanted to play the coin machines but
they would only except the $5.00 bill. I was defeated and that money was gone in less than three minutes. That was enough gambling for me because
I could not find anything thrilling about losing money. Instead I left my husband there while I went outside to browse the boardwalk. He was in there
long enough to lose his socks and regain some of the money back. This
gave me ample time to check out the souvenir shops. Of course, he had to
go back to the Casino a few more times before we left to come home. I
affectionately passed up his invitation and rested in the hotel instead.

  • The Screening & The Meeting With Mr. Stallone!

    Rating:

    Review of: Star Theatre Fairlane

"Rocky Balboa" will be an Oscar winner! The movie
is phenomenal! Robust with it's message of hope,
the film reinforces that true winners never quit even
in the face of adversity. Stallone has
created a character that we can all relate to and this
is the reason for Rocky's huge success. Balboa communicates to our hearts and motivates us to keep
fighting! The movie will be opening December 20 in
    locale theaters.
It was after the movie that we were clued in on where the live interview with Slyvester Stallone would
take place. For a brief moment, after entering the
hotel, I felt like a V.I.P. and it was so much fun being
in this position. I told a staff member that I was there
for the interview and when she checked the itinerary
she didn't see Slyvester Stallone listed anywhere.
She was so kind as she pointed me in the direction of
the main office way down a lengthy hall. Little did
I know that the hotel went through such tremendous efforts in keeping the mega star's appearance under guard that even some of their employee's were unaware
of his attendance. However when I inquired as to where
I should be for the conference, I was escorted to the
proper location with no questions asked of me. At
first, I was intimidated that the room was so small
because that meant any moment Slyvester Stallone
could see me and part of me wanted to run and hide.
I didn't like that feeling of being star struck and having
to worry if I do or say something wrong. Stallone has
a knack though of making you feel very welcome. He
came in with a very big smile and sat down around
the conference table as if we all were family waiting for
our meal to arrive. There was about fifteen of us there
and I was ok as long as he was on the opposite end
of this set up. He gave us the details of how he met
his wife and how much she means to him, both
spiritually and naturally. Than I get this bright idea to
ask him a question and yes, my worse fear reared
it's ugly head. I stood up and mid-way through my
sentence my mouth froze. Oh my gosh, what a moment. It made me so embarrassed. My reason in
sharing such a humiliating moment is to stress the
kindness that Stallone really shows others. He was
so patient and tolerating in waiting for me to finish
my inquiry. Although he had mentioned that the
Rocky character was patterned after himself, I actually
bore full witness of this by that event. Slyvester Stallone
has a very big heart! Later I went up to thank him for
putting me at ease when he jumped out of his chair
and gave me a big bear hug! It's been over a week but
my head still spins when I think about it. The entire
opportunity starting from the phone call until meeting
Slyvester Stallone proved to be such a blessing and
to think that it started with a genuine prayer from myself
for some guidance and inspiration. God certainly does
    move in mysterious ways!

  • No Sense Store!

Review of: Dollars & Sense Dollar Store

Dollar stores are my forte! I've perused every one in
and near our area but it just doesn't make any sense
to have a dollar store that is scant on products and
shows multiple empty shelves. This was my first and
my last visit to this location. I went in to find three
staple everyday items and came out empty handed.
I'm grateful that I was driving in the area of this store
because I hadn't gone out of my way or wasted any
of the gas in the car. I would call up there ahead of
time before traveling out of my way to make sure that
the items you want will be there. I've never been to
such a "charlie brown" dollar store like this before.
It was a very disappointing experience.

Review of: Atlantic City Bar & Grill

The Atlantic City Bar & Grill is located conveniently on the Northeast Corner
Of Pacific and Carolina Roads. A five minute walk from the Fairfield Inn that
my spouse and I were staying at in Atlantic City. If you are not very hungry,
do not order the appetizer. I wanted to start out with the chicken tenders and
the plate was so big I was stuffed! The atmosphere is perky and light. We
couldn't have asked for better service and the bonus was not having to spend
a fortune for a great meal! Smoking is not allowed in the restaurant. If you
want a nice place to have a great meal, I highly recommend this bar and
grill. Here's a link to their website to check out the menu: link !

  • The Dreaded CT-Myelogram

    Rating:

Review of: St. Joseph Healthcare Hospital

The following morning after my phone interview with
Sylvester Stallone, I was scheduled for a CT-Myelogram
for a more thorough look at my spine and the cysts.
This is something that I had put off for awhile because
I was told in advance that it would be very uncomfortable. Although the MRI spotted the tarlov
cysts on my spine, the CT-Myelogram would give
a closer view of the affected areas.. The procedure
itself entails putting a large needle into the spine much
like that of a saddle block. A radiopaque dye is than
injected throughout the cerebrospinal fluid inside the
dura to outline the spinal cord and nerve roots. This
creates a clear picture from the x-ray. There is so
much truth in how our thoughts can make even the
most stressful event tolerable. By this time I focused
my mind on the day before and the thrill of it all enough
to make it through my testing. My discharge instructions were quite clear bed rest for 48 hours
with your head on one pillow. You may only be up for
meals and to use the bathroom. I dare not ask the
doctor about attending the screening of Rocky Balboa
tomorrow I would just play that by ear.
The nurses and staff at St. Joseph Hospital were all
very accommodating and pleasant. The entire process
went a lot easier than I expected.

  • The Best & Most Honest Head of Neurosurgery in Cleveland - Dr. Matt Likavec!!!

    Rating:

Review of: Likavec Matt J MD

For those of you who don't believe in Miracles - what are the chances that I would meet with a doctor who knew Dr. I.M Tarlov (the doctor who discovered
tarlov cysts?) that was my first surprize! By the time I reached Cleveland, my
back was in excruciating pain (even with the meds) because of sitting so long
and this doctor was not intimidated at all that I had to stand throughout our
consultation. Quite contrary, he was very understanding. He looked at the
MRI that I brought and he confirmed that all the problems that I have had with
sitting, standing and in my lower back are attributed to the large tarlov cysts
that sit either side of my spine at the tailbone. He read my urgency in my
eyes of any type of assistance that he could give me but he was also very
wise. He told me exactly how things are. For one, not everyone with these
cysts are suitable for surgery because it can be quite dangerous. So before
anything, I must have more tests. The myleogram will show how deep these
cysts have gotten...sometimes they imbed in the spinal cord bone and that
can cause that area of bone to shatter. I looked up at my sweet husband, who I want more than anything to get better for. He deserves a wife that can do the things that must be done around here. He couldn't speak and I could almost see the huge lump in his throat as the corner of his eyes got wet. And
so than I asked the doctor...will these cysts keep me permantly disabled and
he said Yes. Now, I could not speak. Dr. Likavec took over and told us that
if I am a candidate for the surgery that there is only a 50/50 chance that it
will help me. He went on to say that I shouldn't be in a hurry for surgery because I would be in more pain for a while and that there is about a three month recuperation period. I applaud the doctor for his honesty...he didn't want me to get all excited when, he himself, has only seen half of his patients
make sufficient improvement. Both my spouse and I have decided to wait and
see what the results of my myleogram are before making any further decisions. My doctor recommended stronger medication for the meantime and to continue resting on and off throughout the day...when I need it. He
also put a good feeling in my heart when he said that I am in God's hands. I
like that about Dr. Likavec...that he knows who is truly the greatest doctor of
all. Yes, I would definitely recommend Dr. Matt Likavec most of all because he pulls no punches.

    Review of: Metrohealth Medical Center

Very early this past Tuesday morning, (October 3, 2006) both my spouse and
I woke to get a head start on our journey to Cleveland, Ohio to see the only
specialist within miles who treats patients with tarlov cysts. I had to remind
myself of all the people who were praying for us, once I looked outside and noticed the rain pouring down. Than I knew that the man upstairs would be
with us for our long drive because of all these lovely people who had our
best interest in their heart. I was both happy to finally have someone to answer all of my questions about this disorder and than again, I was afraid too--- to hear the truth about what these can actually do in the long run. I had
to take my pain medications before hand because sitting was going to take
a toll on me. My husband was so good in that we stopped many times, just
to walk out my being so uncomfortable. In between I would fall asleep because of the meds which helped the time go faster. Once in Cleveland,
I could not believe my eyes! Metro Health Clinic resembles a college campus. It is huge!!! There are different branches of buildings on different
streets, however, I was given expert directions from the receptionist in the
main building. It is rather unnerving elsewise if this is your first visit here.
Also, Metro Health is not in a very good section of Cleveland...it really is
a replica of our Downtown Detroit in Michigan. Definitely not a place where you want to make it a habit of walking around. Once we got to the proper building to see my doctor, the receptionist were more than kind to me because of the distance we traveled. I honestly got the red carpet treatment.
Although there were dozens of individuals in the waiting area, they gave me
top priority. I was very elated over their hospitality towards me and my husband and I will always remember this the most about Metro Health Clinic.

    Review of: Speedway Station

Speedway gas station and market is located at a prime
spot (23 mile before I-94, the expressway). This place
is favored by most for their low prices and promo's for
regular customers. They give you a card where you can
rack up points for further purchases. Not only that they have a fairly large supermarket inside with all kinds of
goodies to take on the road with you. At christmas time they even have all sorts of nice gifts you can pick up at the last minute for friends and family. They are the lowest in this immediate area as far as the cost of
gas. Their employees are also very hospitable. And it
is just fun going there. Highly recommend!

  • You bet they have the Best Darn Omelette's Around!

    Rating:

    Review of: Orange Peel Restaurant

The Orange Peel Restaurant is so small that it's easy to pass up if you are
not looking closely but you may get a hint of where it is at because there is
a line of people standing outside waiting for their turn to get in. This is during
breakfast hours. They are nestled in the Red Run Plaza on 15 Mile Road and
Schoenherr and there is two neon signs shining "Shish Kebob" & "coney Island" in the window. Once inside the pretty grecian wallpaper is worn and
ripped with age but adorn the walls. Right above your booth you will see a
fake hanging basket and now you are sure that all those people in line are here because of the superb cooking. They have tons of omelettes to choose
from so I was in my bit of eden for the hour. I chose the western omelette with hugh chunks of meat and potato. You get a side order of your favorite
toast. After eating, I forgot about the lame decorations of this little spot and
told the chef that I totally loved his cooking and would be back soon as they
do have the best darn omelette's around!
