I love Brooke at Trim! 10/16/2009

I went in for a first-time cut and color with Brooke on a recommendation from a friend because we both have long curly hair and NO ONE cuts curls like this girl. She was sweet, on time, and gave me a glass of Chardonnay while my color was processing. I loved the color and it didn't break the bank! I will totally be back. Oh, and my friend said she cuts her boyfriends hair too so I'm gonna try to get my guy in next time. Pros: best Trim and location Cons: nada more

Best Brows on the westside 10/3/2009

I recently moved to venice and researched ""best brows in LA"" and came across Kelley Baker. It was a little hard to find where she was working since she moved to a new salon. Luckily I found her website after googling her name, and it brought me to Trim's website. I was definitely nervous going to someone new, but I trusted citysearch and I was more than pleased. Awesome Hair Cut & Highlights 6/5/2009

I moved to LA about 9 months ago and the Hairstylist I use to see disappeared without a word. I needed a hair cut and dye job like yesterday. You know how that feels, but was hesitant to go somewhere new. The good thing about the internet is that you can always find reviews about a place. I read all the reviews before going to Trim. I had a wonderful stylist at CHASE who is now gone and I totally freaked out! It took me 5 years of going to Salons all over Los Angeles to find him but they finally closed when I wasn't looking. Pros: Everything is done 5 star here! Cons: You haven't come here to get your hair done. more

finally a good salon! 2/23/2009

I have been trying to find a salon to go to for awhile now. I recently decided to go to trim for the first time $20 cut. I needed to get my highlights done also so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm always nervous going in for the first time, but I was desperate. I was warmly welcomed and offered a beer. It was off to a good start. I soon was introduced to my stylist Kelly. I let her know of my troubles in the past and how it has been hard to find anyone to do my hair right. She assured me it would be good this time. She actually was explaining the way she was going to do my hair and it made sense. She did my highlightes and my haircut and as I approached the mirror I was actually excited. I loved what I saw. I high recommend Kelly for color and cut. I am a happy person thanks to her! Pros: great salon and beer! more

Finally I found a great stylist! 2/1/2009

After living in LA for 8 years I finally found a great hairstylist, Miguel. I have been sick of my look for years and needed a dramatic change and wanted it done today! After finding ""Trim"" through City Search and reading the great reviews I took a chance. I was petrified to cut off my long (really long) hair and he did an amazing job on the cut and color. I feel like a new person. He was honest with me on what my hair would and would not do and it turned out great. Thank you so much for reinstating my faith that there are great stylists out there, although I won't be trying anyone new....I found my guy! Pros: Everything: great atmosphere, skilled stylists and who can beat the wine to calm your nerves! more

best salon in venice by far 1/21/2009

I went to Trim Salon last week and had Nik as my stylist. I have curly hair and I usually leave a place looking like Shirley Temple, and I'm a dude. Nik tackled my mop with confidence and I left with my masculinity intact. The place itself is pretty cool. Nice art on the walls and the desk girl offered me a beer while I was waiting. That was a first. I highly recommend Trim and try and get Nik if you can. Pros: great cut, knowledgeable stylists, cool locale, free beer more

finally i got what i wanted VICTORIA YOU ROCK 1/17/2009

Now ive been getting my hair highlighted for years and I have never seemed to find that perfect color. You know something that is natural but really has a kick to it that people just go wow what amazing hair you have. Well my friend recomened trim and I went in, hesitant as always and I got a stylist named Victoria. I must admit I was a little nervious because she looked a bit young but right away her confidence and knowlage of color made me relax (not to mention the tasty glass of wine they give you). She said she had tons of experiences with blonds and boy did she. My hair has never looked this good i felt like i was walking out of vouge when she was through. She is a wizard. I have found my girl after all these years of coloring my hair I finally found a stylist that listened to what i wanted and gave me something even better then i expected. so thank you trim, ha and jen for refering me. My co worker turned me on to her stylist at Trim. I really don't get my hair cut or colored all that often. Therefore I have not been loyal to anyone in particular. Moving forward, I had a great experience at Trim and have a feeling my loyalty will all change. Pros: cool staff great results Cons: parking can stink more

Not only can this salon staff give you great cuts and color, they know how to handle curly hair. They make curly hair look good, then they can send you home with Mixed Chicks curly hair products so you can make your self look good the next day. more

I had to write about Trim , I live in the East Coast and come out here twice a year. I see Silvia who has been there for a while I guess since she has been doing my hair for 3 yrs now. 1st I walked in and didnt see her in her spot which made me nervous for a sec. but then I'm escorted to the new part of Trim in the back part of the salon, WOW, it's beautiful! Apparently it only took a couple of weeks to begin and complete it, amazing. It's kind of different than the front part but really nice, there is definetely a nice balance now, I could be wrong but it's really obvious that the owners and stylist are really dedicated to their clients. There is always great music, good drinks and great hair and the art is pretty wicked. I really dig the vibe at Trim, no pretense or cockiness, contrary to what others say. On that note, my stylist Silvia always does a great job on me, I only get my hair done by her and this time I brought my cousin to try her out, she's a tough crowd and she was very happy ;) Ok, I can go on and on so I'll stop Thank you Silvia and Trim for the great all around service! my salon experience worth sharing @ trim 1/3/2009

I recently moved to the LA area and thought i'd give the first time $20 cut at trim a try. as soon as i walked in i was warmly welcomed, my stylist was on time, and my hair came out phenominal! i highly reccomend trim not only for first time haircut, but for a permanent stylist. not to mention.... the girls r hot, the guys r cute.... AND my hair looks great. that's a hard combo to find in LA ;-) more

I've been going to Trim for a few years now and love the place. I was so excited to hear that they are doing waxing now. I tried Dana and got my eyebrows done and I was so happy. She understood my face shape and how to make my brows the perfect shape. I would highly recommend Trim as a one stop shop and the art is pretty cool too. more

Outstanding service and the first time $20 deal... 12/13/2008

I didnt come here to write a book like some others but the haircut i got today from the owner ""Nik"" was so great and for so many reasons. Booking the appointment was painless, the parking wasnt as bad as i had heard it could be on AK blvd., and most importantly my cut was done without any fancy bells and whistles but was just what i asked for and nothing more. I cant stand when i go in for the first time and the hair person tries to hard. Nothing forced here. And yes, they do have beer. Ha. Fantastic. TECATE. Pros: Staff is a bunch of hotties. more

First let me start out by saying im a pretty loyal gal when it comes to my beauty squad. the thought of having to stray is enough to scare my silky curls straight. thats why I had to get the word out on this rare find. I found my usual stylist, Dina, through recommendations on this very site and the results were pleasantly consistent with the good reviews i had read on her. This is why I took her advice and had my eyebrows waxed by Dana also at Trim. She was right. Dana was amazing, confident, and did exactly what i asked i.e. followed my shape, did not drastically change the look of my brows, or leave weird holes and stray hairs that would become my problem later. Even better is that she was super quick. she did a thousand percent better than I have had done previously. Long story short... Dana just made my awesome hair salon my perfect waxing spot. one stop shop. Pros: all in one, like shampoo PLUS conditioner Cons: parking stinks a little more

Fresh, Funky and Fab Salon in the heart of Venice, CA! 12/6/2008

I began going to Trim a year ago when I moved to the area. All the stylists are awesome there and they put out a welcoming vibe right when you walk in. I see Kelly who is amazing and never disappoints whether its a cut, color or just a deep condition. She is also is fantastic with up-dos. Picture or no picture this girl can rock an up do. I highly recommend her. I have been living bi-coastal for awhile now and had been used to my stylist in NYC, but when I began to see Kelly I stopped that and only wait to get my hair done when I'm in L.A. They are the best salon not only on Abbot Kinney but also in the area! Pros: Thumbs up! more

Trendy Salon on Abbot Kinney 12/6/2008

I had been growing my hair for about two years and it really needed to be shaped and I wanted bangs. A friend told me about Summer who cuts her hair at Trim on Abbot Kinney. I made an appointment and was very pleased that Summer was right on time. She did a great job of shaping, feathering and cutting some length off my hair. I was extremely happy and received a lot of compliments on my new hair style. Pros: Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the waiting room as it was very restful. more

Awesome! 12/5/2008

So I go to trim all the time.. I usually get harrassed by all the girls and its awesome. Summer cuts my hair and convinced me to go mullet.. Best decision ever. The girls are cool and kick back and they offer you not only water coffee or soda, but a beer can also be achieved... I have referred like twenty people to go there. Not a single one has ever complained. By the way the ink on the girls is pretty cool as well.. I think its a requirement for employment!!!hahaha more
