STAY AWAY!!! 1/24/2011

I would give zero stars if I could. On my first order from them They didn't have what I ordered in stock so the order was cancelled. These jerks still charged me for the order & now I'm stuck dealing with my cc company. On the second order I placed a simple order for 2 breakfast sandwiches. I called when an hour had passed and was told in a completely UNapologetic tone that orders take longer than that, and that I need to wait. I promptly cancelled my order and will NEVER go back. This horrible merchant will probably charge me AGAIN for my cancelled order. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MERCHANT!!!! more

Tasty Bagels 8/13/2005

These are by FAR the best bagels that I've had since I moved into the area. I love that they have many "healthier" bagel options- Whole Grain, and on a good day, you can get an Oat covered Multi-Grain bagel. I also enjoy their cream cheese, mainly the Olive & Pimento. They have an excellent variety of vegan cream cheeses as well, made with tofu. As far as drinks go, I enjoy their iced Chai Tea the most. It's sweet and tangy, with that distinct "graham cracker" aftertaste. The bad parts- you never know if they will be out of your favorite bagel or cream cheese, double check before you order. On occassion I have received less-than-adequately-cooked bagels, but this has happened maybe 2 times out of a dozen. I would definitely recommend this place, particularly if family is coming to visit- they have buy 6, get 1 (or 2) free deals with the bagels. The only other disappointing thing is the cost of their cream cheese... more

The Bagel Store 8/5/2005

This store sells quality bagels: mouthwatering, soft, hot (if requested), and they come in a wide assortment. These bagels are comparable to the ones at Bagel Boy. The coffee here is excellent as well. They really cater to what you ask for, so if you say no sugar, there will be no sugar, etc. The service is excellent--everyone is very nice and cordial. The only thing is that this place is very popular and attracts large crowds in the morning. So come early for your bagel and coffee fix if you don't want to be late for work. more

Pretty decent bagels for a late night place 7/29/2005

I was happy with the food and service I experienced here. The bagels were still soft despite the time of night. The cream cheese was fresh and they used REAL butter! The coffee was good - I have no real complaints except that the guy never remembers to give me half & half and I always end up with regular milk in my coffee! more

Perfect Bagel With All the Fixin's 7/12/2005

Ever since the Bagel Shop opened up a second store on Metropolitan just off of Graham Avenue (the first is on Bedford Avenue, just off of Metropolitan), I've had to change my route to the subway in the morning. With bagels this good there's always an excuse why today should be a "special treat day" and I should stop to get one. The bagels themselves are a perfect combination chewy on the inside, crusty on the outside and come in all the basic flavors (plus a few not-so-basic, the salty and sweet French Toast Bagel is worth a taste), as well as three varieties of whole grain - yet another reason why a daily bagel seems like a good idea. The menu offers a variety of cream cheeses - from plain and lox flavored (with pieces of real lox mixed into it) to walnut raisin and homemade tofu, as well as an extensive list of sandwiches that includes "The Heart Attack" with two eggs, bacon, ham, sausage and cheese sandwiched between 2, and "No Name Yet" with ham, egg, cheese and grape jelly - neither of which I've quite had the nerve to try. The Bagel Shop also offers a wide variety of muffins and pastries, as well as irresistible chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies - which I have had the nerve to try, frequently - and of course both hot and iced, flavored and regular coffees. All in all, if you can't find something you like here, you're pretty much hopeless. Breakfast is served from 6am to 8pm, the store is open until 10, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Limited seating on stools by the window available. more

Great local coffee store 6/28/2005

The Bagel Shop, in its new remodeling, is a great cafe. Tv news is always on, there's several papers available to read or buy, and there's plenty of food. They do serve bagels, as well as other pasteries. They also do sandwiches, and have a couple tables around for you to eat there. Food can be delivered as well. Great local spot. more
