Reston Zoo, formally Reston Animal Park and Pet Farm Park, allows the visitor to get up close to many species of animals. While all the common petting-zoo animals, such as sheep, llamas, pigs, and horses, are on display, there are also many animals not found in conventional petting zoos. These animals, such as monkeys, giraffes, and other exotic wildlife, are unable to be touched, however. Despite its many name changes, Reston Zoo has continued to remain a good, albeit pricey, alternative to the National Zoo in DC.
