Review content:
The equipment as this Bally location is pretty good. I especially like having the elevated running track and the punching bags. The kickboxing class, however, is a real joke. It's more of a dance class, with a few wimpy kicking and punching moves thrown in . They have you doing all sorts of effeminate moves that bear no resemblance to anything in kickboxing. The discipline within the class is also very annoying. There's a lot of chatting around in the class, which the instructor should really discourage. Most annoying of all is the loud-mouthed whooping guy who -- each and every time -- feels the need to punctuate the music with yells of "Whoo! Whoo!" It's distracting and it's inappropriate, especially since he's barely doing the moves most of the time. You can even hear him from clear across the gym! So if you're going for the equipment, and maybe some of the other classes, it's not a bad place. Just avoid the kickboxing class if you want a real workout. Oh, and management should really clamp down on the inappropriate behavior in these classes.
