I went to Cala Lilly first with my parents, a friend my age (20s) and her mother. We were seated very quickly, and the ambience is nice, it's a very romantic setting. However, our server took forever (at least 10 minutes) to come over to take our drink order, and consistently was unable to answer our questions, basically (pardon my language) bs-ing answers. Our food took ridiculously long (45 minutes or so, and the restaurant was not busy at all) to come out after we ordered, and the entire experience took about 2 1/2 hours - waaaay too long to spend just sitting waiting for food and service! The food was wonderful, but the lack of service and the slowness of the kitchen was extremely frustrating. My second (and probably last for a long time) experience with Cala Lilly was the week before Valentine's Day, when I had reserved a table for my boyfriend and myself because I would be unable to go out on Valentine's Day. We had a bad snowstorm and I called multiple times in order to try to confirm whether the restaurant would be open for us to come in, and not only did no one answer the phone (understandable if they were closed), no one ever called back. I was very offended after leaving my number and requesting a call-back in the message I left, saying that if they were closed I would like to re-schedule a reservation for the next night. Overall: The food is amazing. The ambience is wonderful. However, the service is awful and the kitchen is agonizingly slow. Maybe it was just my experience, and if you're willing to put up with it, go there! The food makes it almost worth it for me, and I'll eventually go back after a while, to see if anything has changed.
