Businiess name:  Studio One Arts Ctr
Review by:  Adi W.
Review content:
This is a non-profit run by the City of Oakland, Office of Parks and Recreation. Studio One offers dozens of art classes, monitor-assisted labs and workshops for kids, adults and seniors. Except for one-day workshops, classes are scheduled as eight-to-nine week seasonal quarters. New subjects are offered each quarter. Register by mail or in person at their office. Prices are very reasonable ($65-$90 not including materials) and a discount applies to Oakland residents. I've enjoyed silver smithing, jewelry lab, stained glass, table top photography, drawing and paper making classes over the years. In addition to good instruction, a big asset is working in a class room with good equipment that you wouldn't want to invest in at home.
