Review content:
This Chelsea eatery has been featured in Sex & the City and has that general "cool people" feel to it. A friend had her birthday dinner there recently and I got to check it out first hand.
On a nice night, the patio opens right into the restaurant so you can step into the place from the street. The decor is very modern and low-lit, with tea lights illuminating our table.
All our food was delicious! I had an apple/green beans/blue cheese and other veggies salad along with mac & cheese. It was sooo good and creamy! I've tried mac & cheese at so many restaurants in the city and this place is in my top 10. One friend had a crab cake burger, another meatloaf and another the veggie burger. Everyone had only positive things to say about their dinners.
The only negative part was that the last entrée came out about 15 min after the rest of them. There was clearly some miscommunication in the kitchen which our waiter tried to waive off as "it's coming right out," but we were nearly done with our meals once the final entrée came out. We expressed our dissatisfaction and it was removed from the bill, so not such a negative after all.
It definitely has a "too cool" feel to it, but its not so expensive (my dinner was about $16 before tax/tip).
