I have belonged to the Laurelhurst gym for many years and have always been happy with my experience until now. At least a month ago the air conditioning broke down and after several requests to fix it--NOTHING has been done. When I asked about getting the air conditioning fixed no one knew if and when it would be fixed. It appeared to me from what I was hearing that it was too costly to fix. In the meantime, the weight room is stuffy and totally unbearable on a warm day!! The cardio room upstairs is stuffy, smelly and hot and really not pleasant on even a slightly warm day!! There are two eliptical machines (somewhat new) by Life Fitness--they are so popular that many times it is impossible to use one. There are two Life Cycle recumbent bikes that are the newest ones and they are in constrant demand--despite requests to provide more of the eliptical and new bike machines--nothing has been done. Many of the outdated bikes, stairmasters, etc go unused. If I could find another gym that was close by I would leave Pro Robics.
