Injured at work 3-31-09. Huge, heavy metal gate came off the rail and fell on top of me, trapping me underneath for several minutes until coworkers could help me out from underneath. Saw Tim Peters the next morning, barely being able to walk, and was sent home with a anti inflammatory prescription. Followed up with Sarah Peters 2 weeks later because sypmtoms were not easing, & was ordered physical therapy including ultrasound & firm massage for the next 6 months. Symptoms continued to vary, some days worse than others. Finally after therapists felt that they weren't helping me, they persuaded Dr Sarah to order a MRI, which showed a compression fracture on my L1 vertebra. Usually when such a injury occures, a brace can be worn for 6 weeks and the fracture will heal. A Juett brace did not heal my fracture after 6 months, which was prescribed by my new amazing spinal specialist. After that not working, I was scheduled in the hospital for a L1 lateral corpectomy. I now have a missing rib for bone grapht, a 10.5" lateral incision scar, and titanium srews and plates in my back because of someone not taking the time to order a simple x ray or MRI over the course of 6 RIDICULOUS MONTHS. Horrible Doctors, watch out.
