Businiess name:  Save A Lot

Review content:
I visited the store on US 31 south in what appeared to be an abandoned strip mall. Looking at the parking lot with carts rolling around into cars, I was concerned about going inside but did so anyway. After getting through the broken automatic door, there were two police officers standing inside. The entire store was completely filled to the brim with merchandise, making it nearly impossible to walk around or grab anything without knocking something else over. Almost all the floor displays had toppled over, the shelves were a mess and the floor was very dirty. I brought with me about ten receipts from recent Aldi purchases to compare prices. Save-A-Lot's price was the same or 10-20 cents higher on every item - never lower. They were out of the majority of staple items that I was planning to purchase. I found tortillas, but they were full of trans fat, unlike the ones from Aldi. The store brand butter that I purchased was melted with the wax paper inside the strangely shaped 'sticks' (if you could call them that) and was the worst tasting butter that I've ever had. The checkout procedure was extremely time consuming. The cashier was standing around talking for at least 5 minutes before she started very slowly scanning merchandise. Their POS system does not support credit cards, so they have a manual input machine on the customer's side and the cashier has to get up and walk around to it to punch in the total. It then has to 'dial up'. The entire checkout took at least 15 minutes and I couldn't wait to leave.
