Review content:
I've never come here for dinner or brunch, but I think you can't go wrong here. It is an elegant Continental/fusion style restaurant that presents everything beautifully. The calamari, for instance, comes in a wavy bowl. The soft shell crab I have tried had a tower of tomatoes with balsamic vinegar sprinkled on top. The warm chocolate cake (that is so yummy and is served with vanilla ice cream) is a work of art. One person who I ate with ordered the bento box of chocolate desserts. It was so cute! I actually saw Brasserie 8 1/2's dessert chef on the Food Network too. The prices are a bit high (considering I am from New Jersey), but I think it was worth it. The waiters are attentive and the decor is very well-blended. I think it's not all the food (which is above-average), it's the look of the place that makes Brasserie 8 1/2 a worthwhile eatery. You feel as if you are in awe when you walk down that curvaceous stairway into the restaurant.
