Businiess name:  Excel Hair New York

Review content:
I'm so happy right now! Like these other three, wonderful people who wrote reviews for Extreme New York, I'm always concerned about getting my hair cut at a brand new place for the first time. As such, I thought - well... let me try Judy's book and see what has good ratings. Extreme New York was one of the first ones I found on here, and since it had great reviews and was right by my parent's apartment, I thought - ok, I'll try it. Thankfully, i did; what a great place! The decor is modern (with a quasi-european feel?) and as soon as I got there I was told I could go in back to get my hair washed. Assuming I was just getting a typical hair wash, I was surprised therefore, when the woman started massaging my head in more detail (i.e., ignoring the hair and massaging the temples and my neck)... soon I started to wonder even, whether I'd accidentally agreed to some really expensive head massage... I figured this because at this point she was ignoring my whole head and just massaging my back and then my temples and neck again, and only once in awhile getting back to my hair... (but not even rinsing it... just massaging it). It was a 15 minute process, and by the end I was sure I owed her a gazillion dollars... but it turns out that it was just the way she likes to wash hair, and it was wonderful! (I gave her a great tip afterwards). Next: the haircut. I had Kent do my hair, and immediately I felt at ease. He looked really competant and very 'in charge.'. For anyone who likes a hairdresser who doesn't talk, but concentrates fully on what he or she is doing... (and who is incredibly talented at what he or she does), get Kent! He didn't talk to me at all; just kept chopping away in a very fast paced manner (but in a way that I could also tell he was very skilled)...And, at the end, he finished up by blowdrying my hair in such a great way that my boyfriend complemented me at least five or six times later that night. Highly recommended!!!! (One warning: The whole wash/cut/blowdry cost me $57 with/out tip - not the $25 someone else mentioned)
