Review content:
We bought a Nissan Altima from the Laurel Carmax in December 2003. We worked with a salesman who was courteous, low-pressure, helpful and definitely a foreigner. He helped me view the car I wanted, let me take it for a test drive, which involved moving a carseat back and forth between cars, and pushed the rules a little so I could have time to bring my husband by to see the car before buying. The car we bought had a very annoying issue that we had a difficult time figuring out. It took three or four visits back to Carmax. By the end I was very frustrated, but the actual issue explains why it was so difficult to diagnose. A previous owner had lost the gas cap to the car and tried to replace it. In so doing, he damaged the opening just enough to set off the "Check Engine Soon" light. At the beginning, when the light went off the first time, the manager of Carmax extended the initial warranty period so that we could still return the car for a full refund should the issue arise again and should we desire to do so. All of the personnel I worked with Carmax, including the repairs person, Mr. Marley, were helpful and tried to resolve the issues as best they could for both our benefits. I would buy from them again.
