Wow, I finally found a little kids' heaven right here in University Place. Odyssey 1. Oh yeahhhhhh, how cool is this place. My oldest son had been to a few birthday parties here with his dad and brother, so I had never been. Since school was out on St. Patty's Day and it was raining and I was feeling rich, I decided that Odyssey 1 was the place to go. What the heck, I thought, try it out. If it sucks, then I can choose to not come back. I found a coupon for $5 in tokens. The admission price was good for all of us: $11 total. I was amazed by the largeness of the play structure and it's relative safety and cleanliness. The employees regularly patrolled it too, so that was good. We ordered pizza, and I was fully expecting the same gourmet quality of a Chuck E. Cheese piece of cardboard. Not so. Their pizza was actually quite good and flat. I was surprised, so then I wasn't so taken aback by the $16 price for a large pepperoni. The games were fun too, although $5 in tokens does NOT go far at all. It wasn't packed like I thought it would be with school out and rain. We had plenty of time to sit and chat with the locals and eat our pizza. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed. Even the baby liked it. So I blew $27 to entertain my kids on a rainy day, and it was so worth it.
