Review content:
I have visited Windows on several occasions now and will continue to come back to celebrate any special occasion. The view is outstanding, located on the 32nd floor of the SBC Building in downtown LA. The restaurant is walled in windows, so every seat has a good view (I prefer the window seats just so I don't have people walking past to disrupt the view). The service there is generally pretty wonderful.
As for the food...
The signature chopped salad is exquisite! The vinaigrette is perfectly light. If you prefer soup as a starter, the lobster bisque is excellent and one of the best in all of Los Angeles (if there's better, we haven't had it).
The steaks are divine. Be sure to order your filet medium rare -- it is cooked perfectly and is excellent when at this level. Basically all of their steaks are wonderful. I've never tried anything except the filet, but why mess up a good thing?! I recommend trying the cabernet sauce. As for sides, the mashed potatoes are good, but I much prefer the au gratin potatoes. They are decadent in cheesiness...and ya can't go wrong with cheese and potatoes! The baked potato is also wonderful and best made for two because it's way too large for one person.
The creme brulee is amazing. It's wonderfully creamy, nice and light with vanilla, and topped with lots of berries.
This is one of the best kept secrets of Los Angeles!
