First of all the Tropicana is a dump. The rooms are small and beat up, the buffet is nasty, and the casino has seen better days. Why the heck am I recommending the Tropicana? Is all about what you want to get out of your Vegas Hotel, and in this department the Tropicana shines. 1. It's cheap. You’re not spending money on a room you’re not going to spend a lot of time in. 2. It's on the strip. Vegas is full of bad cheap hotels but most of them are a cab ride away from the strip. When its 4:30 a.m. and you’re stumbling back to your hotel room the last thing you want is a cab ride. 3. The pool. The Tropicana does still does have one of the sweetest pools on the strip. It's huge and encircles most of the hotel. The people watching alone at the pool is worth the room charge. 4. Swim up blackjack. Yes, that’s right. You can swim right up to a blackjack table located in the middle of the pool. And yes, they take wet money.
