OK! so I decided to visit again after a couple of years away and the venerable Redwood Room is making a serious comeback! I walked around the room with my drink in hand while my buddies stayed at the bar and met a group of the hottest girls I've seen in a while in the city. Everyone looked great and the crowd was totally engaging. Being able to walk into a bar and meet people shows that everyone is comfortable... this place is getting back to how it was right after Shrager opened it in 2001. The drinks on the menu are tasty and the bartender made a great old-fashioned, the DJ had the crowd flowing and the staff was totally cool. Make sure if you want a table to go to the podium at the front and let the Maitre D' take care of your group. When I decided I wanted to sit with those girls I met, I was seated right between Kiefer Sutherland's group, who I found out was in town for a doc film he just made, and John Mayer, who's playing with Lance Armstrong's old girl Sheryl Crow... this place is still the GOLD standard!! Pros: PEOPLE CROWD ATMOSPHERE MUSIC Cons: no real drawbacks
