Businiess name:  Dawson's Sweet Cake

Review content:
After a long search for our wedding cake we thought we had finally found the place...We purchased our wedding cake and a grooms cake from Dawson's Sweets for a little over $1000. When purchasing the cake we agreed upon Mrs Dawson delivering the cake to our reception venue for an additional $95, but at that point someone would have to meet her there to carry it up the 2 flights of stairs. Close to a week before the wedding my wife went by Dawson's just to go over the specifics and to drop off the picture of what the cake was to look like. While there they agreed that the wedding cake would have a touch of pink in it, which it did not. The day before the wedding Mrs Dawson and my wife spoke and arranged a time to deliver the cake. Since I would have to be one of the ones carrying the cake up the stairs they agreed upon us meeting at 930. To be clear there was never a warning that this was too early to deliver, or that it could potentially weaken the cake being out in the open for that long. Not long after the cake had been delivered it began to lean slightly. We didn't think much of it and carried on with our busy day. When guests arrived at the reception that night the cake was seriously leaning and in jeopardy of falling. After being at the reception for about 45 minutes my wife and I made the decision to go ahead and cut the cake before it fell. This was a huge embarrassment for us and we sought out retribution for this disaster. Upon contacting Dawson's to notify them of what had happened we found out that Mrs Dawson had retired and that there were new owners. The new owners said that they wouldn't be able to refund any of our money because they didn't make any money on that specific cake. Mrs Dawson, the previous owner, also said pretty much tough luck and that she would not be doing anything about it. It has been almost a month today since the incident happened and we still haven't heard so much as a sorry from Mrs Dawson.... Poor way to run a business in my opinion. Perhaps this is why there are new owners. Either way I would definitely suggest going over every single detail and being 100% confident in the person you are giving your hard earned money to, whether you decide to purchase from Dawson's Sweets or any other establishment.
