Let me first say that I had my dog groomed here several times over the last year and was generally happy with the grooming. I was always a little perplexed that I could drop my dog off at 8 am in the morning and that he wouldn't be ready until 5 or 6 pm. It also concerned me a little that he always relieved himself as soon as we got out the doors like he had been holding it for some time. But today was the final straw. I have had my dog groomed numerous times here over the past year and was always charged around $90 for his breed. When I picked my dog up today I was told that my charges were $111. When I inquired if they had raised their prices, they indicated that they had not, but that they had determined that my dog was a different breed. My dog is 7 years old, we've owned him nearly since birth, and not once has he been referred to as the breed they suddenly self-determined. Not his veterinarians, not the shelter that we adopted him from, no one. When I asked why this was never brought to my attention at all the previous groomings, they advised that I should be happy that I received a discount for the previous groomings. When I asked why the previous groomers didn't raise the issue, they indicated that the current groomer was a manager, which I guess makes her a self proclaimed dog expert, which I guess makes the other groomers dipsticks? To recap, I dropped off my dog for grooming services at a previously agreed upon price (the price that it had been every time before) and once the services were completed, they decided to change the price on their own initiative based on their self serving breed designation. If they really believed that my dog was a different breed then they should have at least contacted me, advised me of the new price, and asked if I still wanted the service. They didn't do that at all or even try to act apologetic and rather told me I should be happy that I got a discount before? I'm half tempted to have my dog genetically genetically tested just to prove a point. Avoid this business!
