Review content:
It is my opinion that the positive reviews are obviously done in an attempt to bury the negative reviews. Here is my experience, We had an emergency and since St Paul Vet had great hours and walk-in service, I brought in my dog in who had signs distress. After signing the payment forms to ok the costs of the x-rays (you have to do this before they do anything, common practice I guess but it gets worse) They confirmed that he had a serious issue and that he needs surgery now. But first here is the cost, 1200 to 1800. Reasonable I admit but again, they need payment BEFORE the surgery can be done. Since I don't use credit cards and I would have to transfer the money to my account it would take 1 to 2 days for the transfer to take place. After wasting 45 mins the vet stated that maybe they can take half as a down payment and will check with the owner. I stated great, I can give you half now and when the transfer takes place I will give them the remainder then. This dog is our family dog who has 2 little girls who love him dearly please let the owner know this. The vet came back and coldly stated, No the owner of St Paul wants the minimum now before surgery can be performed, we can help you find another vet who may be able to perfome the surgery but we are much less expensive, oh and he is in very dire straits, After wasting another 25 mins making calls with no vet close to be able to do the surgery I told her that they are our only hope. She again coldly said that they need payment first because we have had to send many people to collection in the past. At this time my dog was basiclly falling in and out of consciousness and it was obvious that he was in pain and we wouldn't make it to another vet in time, I didn't want to give these people another penny but due to the agony that he was in we had him put down to end his pain. To put more salt in the wound they seemed to wait for me to sign everything before they would do it. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN MY OPINION, If you bring your pet here you need to be prepared to make your payment immediatly or you will not get treatment. Even in an emergency situation. I mean this from the bottom of my heart, if you love your pet, I would stay away.
