NAMI Utah is the resource on mental illness for both those who live with it and their families/friends. They hold education classes for those diagnosed and their families. It is all peer-to-peer--everyone at NAMI is touched by mental illness, either through their own experience of that of a family member. There are no doctors, clinicians, therapists, etc. It is one person to the other sharing their own experiences. Their support groups are great because everybody gets it. You can talk about your struggles with depression, bipolar, etc, without judgment. The best part about it is that it's all FREE! \r \r NAMI really helped me in my recovery from mental illness and the challenges that I face everyday. The people are caring and non-judgmental. I highly recommend the classes and support groups. Pros: Everybody there is caring, understanding, and non-judgmental Cons: I wish there were more classes around the valley!
