Review content:
This is the dry cleaner's in Coronado almost directly across the street from Amier Tailoring. I hesitated for a long time before writing this review because my experience was so negative. I wish it were possible to enter a review with zero stars. I am still so sad about my two beloved sweaters though that I have decided to write a review, in part to warn other potential customers: this business apparently has no idea how to clean fine cashmere or wool sweaters. After taking A LOT of business there with no problem, I dropped off a very nice vintage wool sweater with a lot of sentimental value (and the only pure wool sweater I owned) along with my one and only fine cashmere sweater. For the first time and for no reason I know of, the owner asked me to pay in advance (which I happily did, although it seemed odd). I picked up the sweaters and didn't immediately inspect them, having had no problems in the past. I was incredibly sad to find later that she shrank both sweaters at least a size. Even without putting them on, I immediately saw that the fabric itself was thicker and denser because of the shrinkage. I tried them on anyway and it was simply absurd how much they'd shrunk (and it's NOT because I got bigger, either, haha). These two treasured items are TOTALED, ie, UNWEARABLE (by me, anyway, or by anyone larger than a petite or a child). I considered going back to ask her to pay me for the value of the sweaters, but felt bad about it because her children are always there and I don't know how well she's doing financially. Not that I have yet been able to afford to replace my two favorite sweaters, either. And these were really irreplaceable. Don't bring your sweaters to this dry cleaner unless you NEED them a size or two smaller. I will never, ever bring any of my business there again. I am really sad about this. If she doesn't know how to clean sweaters, she should just say so, and not ruin people's clothing while charging them in advance. This place is at best incredibly incompetent. Take your fine things to the lovely cleaners across the road on Isabella Blvd instead. I wish I had.
