Review content:
I brought in my daughters car because it was slipping in-between gears. AutoTech called me back stating that the transmission needed to be replaced for a cost of $4,000.00. I called AAMCO for a quote and they told me that even in the worst case scenario it would be only $2,800.00 for a transmission replacement. When I called Folsom AutoTech back they said they would do it for the same price, $2,800.00. But they said they would need $1,500.00 down. Since I did not have the funds available yet, I did not choose to use their company. I picked up the car, paid the $98.50 due for the diagnostic and took it over to AAMCO. AAMCO called me the next day to inform me that the transmission did NOT need to be replaced. The hoses were just leaking and the computer needed to be relearned. They did not understand why Folsom AutoTech was going to replace the transmission. I only had a bill for $98.00 from AAMCO for the repairs done instead of a $4,000.00 charge from Folsom AutoTech.
