I went in for a routine exam and cleaning. I had a VERY SMALL cavity on one of my molars, a molar, per Dr. Ransdell, that just needed to be "cleaned up", and a silver filling on a third molar that I was told should be replaced. I was given the option of composite fillings or porcelain. There was no mention whatsoever of crowns or onlays. I had no idea the majority of healthy dental structure would be drilled away. I opted for porcelain as I was told it would last much longer than composite. I had no idea I would be receiving crowns until after most of my natural tooth structure was drilled away. I had no underlying tooth decay and those teeth did not bother me one bit. Like Tina, I had temp fillings for 2 days (as opposed to a 2 hr wait), and the results are nothing like the CAD/CAM crowns which they heavily advertise in the office (mind you, they never even told me that's what I was supposed to be having done).
