When I think of a local hardware store, I think of friendly & knowledgeable staff. This is NOT the case with Berkeley Ace Hardware. I shop here quite a bit for work -- I work at a UC Berkeley lab and we're constantly needing miscellaneous hardware. \r \r Half of the time I can just find what I need, buy it, and get out. But when I have trouble finding something, or have a question about something, it's frustrating and painful to deal with the staff. Most of the time they are either rude, unconcerned, can't speak english, or just aren't knowledgeable. My favorite experience was when I asked where C-clamp spring clips are, and the lady just pointed to the front-right of the store and said "up there" and just walked away. I couldn't find the clamps and had to asked another employee -- they ended up being on the opposite side of the store. I've also had difficulty returning a defective product because I was missing part of the non-essential packaging. Of course there's been some exc
