I have a common congenital heart defect, Mitral Valve Prolapse, which is generally innocuous, but I hadn't had it checked since I was young and my heart had been palpitating more frequently of late. This alarmed me a bit. I thus chose Dr. Campbell's office for my visit. Being younger, I couldn't get a word-of-mouth recommendation from friends, so I chose the first office that didn't patch me through several voice systems, didn't require a note from my Primary Care Physician, and could see me within a couple weeks. She even has a website with a questionnaire, which helped win me over...very thorough and no sitting in the waiting room filling it out.\r \r I could not have chosen a more capable, knowledgeable doctor. Her office staff is great and she spent plenty of time explaining everything to me so that I felt comfortable. She set me up with a 24-hr heart monitor and an EKG. Even the EKG technician had good things to say - Dr. Campbell is one of the very few cardiologists that reads the EKG and heart monitor results herself. Dr. Campbell reviewed my family history and other factors - my exercise and dietary habits, and even sent me for a cholesterol check. She left no stone unturned, but neither did she request unnecessary tests.\r \r Her philosophy is two-fold. First, heart disease is the number one killer in the US and it's the most preventable, so see your cardiologist. Secondly, she is very proactive - she does not agree with ""no answer is a good answer"" but instead keeps looking until she finds the answer.\r \r Overall, a magnificent experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Campbell and the medical center in which she works (I was in/out of my EKG and heart monitor appts in under an hour). If you've been thinking about going to the cardiologist, stop thinking about it and DO IT - and call Dr. Campbell! Pros: Knowledgeable, Friendly Staff, Parking, Location (on the N-line)
