Review content:
I made a special order tile purchase. There was some type of black mold on the tile from being in wet carboard boxes. Michael & Jeff spent 2 days trying to convince me to just clean it and use it. Then I finally spoke with the vendor and they informed me all their tile in their warehouse had mold and to wipe it off and install it. I told them I wanted to refund it to Northeast Carpet. I contacted Jeff at NEC and informed them I wanted a refund. Tina had a check issued for the refund and schedule Jeff to come pick it up. He couldn't come, he had to go to another residence to pick up other moldy tile. When Jeff came he bragged about how they had sold the moldy tile to a customer. The check they gave us was $67 short. I called Tina and she informed we should have been charged a 20% restock fee, since we weren't we should be happy. She said the restock fee notice was on the paperwork, well we didn't receive paperwork when we placed the order and when we picked it up the paperwork I had to ask for made no mention of restock fee. She also told me Jeff was wrong about the tile being sold to another customer. She stalled for 3 days before telling me I would have to speak with John Kercshbaum the owner. I left a message for John who didn't return my call. When I called back Monday, April 21st, they again said John was out and would take a message. I pushed them to tell me how I could talk to John and they put Jeff on the phone. Jeff told me John had resigned, the company was closed and Tina was meeting with accountants and lawyers tyring to figure out what to do and that she would call me. Then on April 29th I called NEC and they answered the phone normal and said they were still in biz and open and taking orders. The story constantly changed about whether moldy tile is common or uncommon, whether there is a restocking fee or not, what happened to the moldy tile I returned and if other customers had problems and even whether or not they were in biz.
