Review content:
Me and my wife went to Vie in Western Springs with some friends, and the freshness of ingredients was well appreciated by our party. But fresh, wholesome ingredients do not alone make for a great meal. I ordered the gnocchi, which was obviously made in house, and surely well done, but it came with pork confit and other ingredients that really didn't enhance the dish a bit. Another time we had cabbage rolls, which were ""serviceable"" but just nothing great. The only better than average dish for the evening was a salad with shrimp and ""spicy aioli."" Deserts, i think need a total makeover at vie. None of us thought any of the deserts were anything special-- oh, wait, with one exception- the butter cake was delicious. \r In this recession, i would only spend my money at a restaurant if i knew i was in for an amazing evening. Vie does not deliver on its promise.
