Review content:
The first time I walked into Two Tartes Cafe, I had a feeling that my experience was going to be a good one. I had heard about the food from a coworker of mine who frequents the place almost daily. And he was aboslutely dead on - the food is REALLY GOOD. They have a daily lunch special entree that generally brings back memories of the good old days of mom's cookin. Only it's WAY BETTER than my mom's. The meatloaf is amazing. Or one time, they had Beef Stroganoff. BEEF STROGANOFF! How many places serve that? Anyway, the entrees are wonderful. The sandwiches are solid - they have meatloaf sandwiches sometimes too =) But they use fresh ingredients and the meat seems to be of a much higher quality than you usually get from most sandwich shops. But I think the best thing about Two Tartes is the staff. They have a really wonderful cast of characters working there from the two ladies that own it to the gal who works the front - she's absolutely hilarious! They're so friendly and it really keeps me coming back. If you're in Georgetown for lunch you're missing out. If you're downtown, it's worth the drive. Check out their menu online and call your order in. Believe me, it's worth it. If you're paying what? 7 8 9 10 bucks a day anyway you might as well spend it on some really great food that will fill you up and is not a total grease bomb. So check it out - they have awesome coffee and espresso drinks too. And deserts to die for. Pros: All the food I've tried there has been absolutely delicious; the service is fast, friendly and fun; cool neighborhood feeling and atmosphere Cons: Can be pretty crowded during lunch hours, snag a table while you can; their soft drink case could use some work
