Review content:
The Regal Egan Stadium 16 has managed to take all the pleasure out of going to the movies. This evening, the night before Thanksgiving, I decided to take the individual I work as a PCA (Personal Care Attendant) with to the movies to reward him for a school year of hard work, and to enjoy the holiday season. I was not overly shocked that the price of a first run movie was $9.50 for an adult and $7.00 for a student (although I should have been) however I was mortified when we stepped to the concession counter. I browsed their selections and decided that the ""number 1"" looked good; however I could see no price listed. So I ordered a ""number one"" consisting of two medium sodas and large popcorn. I thought that the cash register was broken when it rang up at $17.50. When the young man across the counter said ""that will be seventeen fifty,"" I just about had a coronary. I replied ""you've got to be kidding me"" to which he answered ""no, sir."" Well, given that the price of corn is going up all over the world I suppose it's only reasonable that the movie going crowd should be expected to shell out the difference in the prices they pay for popcorn, but this was ridiculous. So I decided to skip the popcorn and just get the pops, small pops that is. When he told me there was a fifty cent difference between the price of a medium and a small, I figured that since I all ready had to take out a second mortgage to pay for the price of admission I might as well go the extra mile and spring for the mediums. $9 was the price of two medium sodas, however I suppose it's worth it when you consider that the cups are the size of a horse trough. Well, to sum things up when we finally did get seated I had a very hard time enjoying the show even with the state of the art sound system and comfortable seating, I kept wondering how anybody can justify spending that much on a movie and treats, from here on out its the Riverview or bust. I will never give one more cent to a Regal Cinema Pros: Great stadium seating and fantastic sound all Overshadowed by Enormous Over Pricing Cons: Concession Prices are beyond Ridiculous, Admissions are More than similar theatres
