Review content:
I would give this place a negative 5 stars if I could cause it is so embarrassing to Filipinos. Gold Ribbon is a dump because it be so much more if the owners had any pride. I come from a large Filipino family that has been in Houston since the 80's and I am an accomplished Filipino Foodie. The decor is a throw back to 70's/80's and is quite tacky - don't bring a date. They have buffet which they let food sit until it is gone, which means it can sit there the whole day. They cheap out on ingredients and is not very top quality more like Food Town quality. The cooks are not Filipino they are migrant workers. Its more of a mom and pop operation than one actively managed by a real chef. The food is filipino but not representative of the best recipes more like street food. At least street food is fresh - let me reiterate the food is not fresh. Go to Los Angeles, CA to see what real Filipino food is suppose to be. Pros: Location, Can buy filipino movies and CDs Cons: Decor ,tastes bad, expensive, and food not fresh
