Okay, I have never had an EGD in my life and wasn't real sure what to expect. I think I was more nervous about this procedure than I have ever been about any procedure or surgery that I have faced. First let me tell you that the office Dr. Colman uses to perform the scope is EXCELLENT. The staff is so helpful and friendly. I also didn't have to wait long to be taken back and once I got back there, I only waited about 10 minutes. Once the nurse came to wheel me back to the room where the procedure is done I was met a SUPER NICE man. He did introduce himself as the doctor but I think my nerves superceded my conciousness. After I got situated for the procedure the nurse said she was going to put something in my IV that would make me sleep. I must say that anesthesia makes me a little aggressive and I say things that I don't mean or they come out rude. I asked the nurse (after the medicine had been injected) when we were going to get started with the procedure and I heard this man say, ""well, if that lazy doctor ever gets it here we can get rolling"" and I asked rather rudely, ""can't someone go and find him?"" That is when Dr. Colman said ""I am the doctor and I think we should get started right now."" He thought it was funny and wasn't offended at all...which is good b/c I'm always afraid that I will offend someone. After the procedure, he came out and talked to me and asked if I had any questions. I didn't so he let me go. His office called the next day to check on me...Dr. Colman exudes awesome bedside manner. I would feel confident with any procedure he performed. Also, I can't write this without mentioning Erica his nurse. She has been so helpful with all of the crazy questions I had. She is good to follow up if she says she is going to call you back, believe her. Dr. Colman and Erica make a great team and I would recommend him to anyone that needed a gastroenterologist. Pros: He was great Cons: None, I had a great experience.
