I've been walking by this place for several years and have always been curious to try it. I finally tried Java tonight and was glad I did. The place is small and cozy, has tapestry-like tablecloths and plants in the front--sort of hippie decor but not in a bad way. My husband and I ordered the dish for two (Rijsttafel) and it was $35.95 with all sorts of small dishes to share--lamb, beef, chicken, shrimp, cod, and veggies PLUS our own soup appetizer and dessert and coffee/tea. We really enjoyed all of it. The sauces for the dishes were curry, peanut, tamarind and some others. Some dishes were spicier than others, but nothing was super spicy. The service was very nice and mellow, not hurried and the food came out fairly quickly. We came in with no expectations and were really happy with everything. We plan to go back a lot now that we know it's so good and very reasonable. Definitely try it!!
