After reading a few online reviews, we called Ray Human and asked if they would check out a car we were looking to buy while in Knoxville and they said sure - and it was free of charge. We live about 2 hours away.
We offered to pay them repeatedly but they refused saying thats just a service they do for free. We showed up on July 4th weekend Friday but they fit us in - sadly to tell us the car was a total lemon - but they showed us the problems and went over it all. They were right - the car hard been flooded and severly damaged though Carfax didn't record any of that - and still, after all they did, they refused to bill us for it.
We sent them a check later anyway even though we didnt' buy the car because this was a very important purchase - my wife & child who nearly just died in a severe crash just a few weeks before, so we wanted a safe ride. They were incredibly nice - we really owe them a lot more than the money we sent in spite of their refusal. Mechanics with honesty and altruism like that are BEYOND hard to find - Knoxville TN really has a resource with these guys. Thanks Ray Human & staff...you really saved our butts.
