I planned to order carpet at a major big box store and was furious when after giving me a price, when the contract came out, theystarted to nickle and dime me on everything from removal of the old carpet to stairs making the price I was orginally quoted go way up. Then the guy they sent to measure came up with an absurd estimate for square footage.\r
I decided to try Carpet Barn, found even nicer carpet at a lower price and asked them to give me he cost taking everything into account, NO SURPRISES for moving furniture, etc.\r
The price was much better, their installers were top notch and I'd rather patronize local businesses anyhow.\r
The big box store called to find out why I cancelled and I told them I felt they had been deceitful and that I had gotten a much better deal elsewhere. \r
Their store manager then called to say the carpet I wanted was now on a special unadvertised sale (what a coincidence) but I stuck with Carpet Barn and am very happy I did
Pros: Great selection, great prices
