I do not recommend this place to anyone. I went there with a friend of mine and the special was a grilled cheese sandwich and soup for $5.99. I wanted to substitute a roast beef sandwich for the cheese sandwich and I asked the waitress if I could get a roast beef sandwich and soup for $5.99 instead of $6.99. She told me I could do that substitute for $5.99. So the meal comes with a cup of soup (not bad tasting) and this rather diminutive roast beef sandwich. So we finish eating and get the bill and I notice I was charged $6.99 instead of the agreed upon $5.99. When I brought this to the waitress’s attention the owner happened to be within earshot and became livid with the waitress for her letting me get the sandwich for $5.99. In front of all the patrons he dressed her down and belittled her saying it was going to cost her and not the restaurant for what she did. She was close to tears over this. I immediately stepped in and began dressing him down in front of all the patrons telling him that that was an ignorant and rude way to treat an employee. Then he whined, “I am running a business” I told him that was no excuse. He then said, “Ask Frank there, he has been coming here since 1969. We always fun around with our employees like that.” I told him, “I don’t care what Frank says! I will pay the $6.99 so the waitress does not lose any money and this is the first and last time I come here because you just lost two customers!” At this point his mouth was agape and he just stood there like the stupid moron he is with nothing to say. I paid the bill, left a five dollar tip for the waitress, turned around, pointed my finger in that ignorant, philistine owner’s face and said, “And you better not take this out on the waitress after I am gone.” Then I walked out the door. What an ignoramous that owner is. I will never go back there and I do not recommend that place to anyone else.
