Businiess name:  Parvin's Spa
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
I found Parvin from Groupon. I checked her reviews from a search and was considering giving her a try for a Brazillian Wax based on her excellent reviews.\r \r When I walked up to her spa I was a little surprised with the set up, a little cluttered, the desk positioned so the receptionist has her back to you. Not a deal breaker though. She was very friendly and Parvin came out and greeted me. \r The receptionist walked me into the room. It was messy and the wax tubs were very sloppy looking. Wax was spilled and it made me a little nervous. If I hadn't already prepaid (groupon) I probably would have cancelled and left. Looking back, I should have gone with my instincts instead of worrying about money spent. Was I overreacting? Why had no one mentioned the disorganization in their reviews? I calmed myself and stayed.\r Parvin was quick and polite. The wax was good, not painful. I was disappointed she did not use any hard wax. I had called before making the appointment to see if she uses hard wax and although I was given some drawn out answer about her selecting the best wax for your skin type, I was told yes, she does have hard wax. For those of you not familiar with hard wax, it is a wax that sticks to your hair only, not your skin! If used correctly, it makes for a quick, painless wax with less irritation. \r Anyways, I didn't really think too much about it until after the wax was done and I was getting dressed, I noticed a waxing stick sticking out of the wax pot. I thought that was weird but it didn't register until after I had left. I don't remember hearing her throw out the wax stick after each use. (you hear the stick hitting the pail). Why was she leaning all the way over to put the stick somewhere after each application? Why...because she was redipping the wax applicator back into the pot!!! I started freaking out. This is EXTREMELY UNSANITARY! Why had no one else mentioned this?! Double dipping the applicator can spread bacteria and possibly STDs! I will not be returning for another wax, and I hope others are more cautious than I was. See my other review for a great waxer at the same price.
