Review content:
I just went to Thundercloud on Lake Austin Blvd. this afternoon to grab a sandwich and smoothie. The guy behind the counter said that while he was making my smoothie, one of the others behind the counter would take my sandwich order. So I moved over to stand in front of them and, nothing... Neither one would so much as acknowledge my presence or look me in the eye. They deliberately avoided eye contact with me, looking right through me, but when another customer walked in, they cheerfully took his order! I just stood there with my jaw dropped - it apparently is asking WAY too much for them to be pleasant to their customers?!?! When the guy making my smoothie came back, I double-checked with him to make sure I had understood him. He said that yes, they were to have taken my order and he seemed a bit confused, but at least he apologized.\r \r I have also experienced rude service at the Thundercloud at FM 620 and FM 2222. Apparently that's the overall culture at Thundercloud - a side of asinine behavior comes free with every meal.\r \r I really don't mind the slackers who work at all the Thunderclouds - the ones who wear goth rags and sport hair that I seriously doubt has seen a comb in two weeks. It all kind of adds to the ""Keep Austin Weird"" scene. But if your going to be hired to do anything in customer service (and you're bent on making it obvious how much you don't want to do your job), you could at least be remotely pleasant to your customers!\r \r I took my business to Schlotzsky's and got a great sandwich - and great service! Cons: Rude servers
