Review content:
Many years ago my car broke down in front of this little hidden cafe during the heat of the summer. I went inside to get a drink while waiting for tow truck... I was immediately greeted by some-of the most friendly people I have ever met. Before I knew it I was sampling some of the most delicious dinners.. That was all it took! I went back that evening for dinner and from then on it was a weekly treat for several years. Since then I have moved to Hillsboro, but when asked where I would like to have dinner.. I always tell them Vancouver, Jerusalem Cafe. I can not count how many time I have taken friends and family there. And everyone of them just loves it. I will admit I am partial to the original location on Evergreen, even though the building and decor are simple and sparse. I haven't yet been to Battleground location, just too far for me, and the Chakolov location just didn't feel the same to me.
So whats good to order? EVERYTHING. My fav is the Jerusalem Special, no.. its the Chicken on Fire.. no its the Falafal.. no wait... its the shinitzel... ok ok its the entire menu... turkish coffee and baklava is great too. Dont let the outside fool you... walk in take a seat and enjoy
Pros: Flavorfull and Friendly
Cons: I wish they'd opened one in Portland
