Review content:
i took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. rushed to the office, left urine sample. mingea's nurse, heidi, told me they would only do a blood test b/c they are more accurate. i asked her to do the urine test anyway b/c i couldn't wait for the blood results. it was neg. i asked heidi if this could have been caused by drinking too much water and she replied ""absolutely not"". i later read on the ept box and online that drinking excess fluids can cause a false neg. heidi called the next day and told me the blood test was pos. i asked to set up an appt with dr. mingea asap as i was on several meds that can harm a baby. heidi replied that she'd spoken with dr. mingea and dr. mingea told her to tell me she'd already talked to me about my meds and that she would see me in three and a half weeks, no sooner. i'd spoken with her about my meds in general many months ago but never about how to come off of them, and since that time some of my meds had changed. i immediately saw a different ob/gyn. he was horrified- i was taking 4mg of xanax a day (dr. mingea knew this), which is in the most dangerous pregnancy category. he told me that remaining on that med for almost a month could have caused severe harm to my baby. he gave me the specific instructions i needed about how to come off my meds quickly and safely. additional note- heidi interrupts you constantly while you're talking, or rather, trying to talk.
