First time at the place after passing by it numerous times on eagle rock blvd. My husband & I usually eat at armon's up the street by swork or the french cafe beaujolis up on colorado. auntie em's is yummy for breakfast as well as lunch too! i've heard the place was good so decided to give it a try. upon entrance we were greeted cheerfully by our server. we were given coffee even before we could sit down which was nice but come reciept time it was $1.95 per cup! Yikes! their menu is expansive and some of it a little pricey with egg white substitues being $2.00 extra!!! at armon's, it's free everytime i order the veggie omelet. anyway, my husband ordered the double order of eggs benedict with home fries. it was a huge serving but the homefries were a bit mushy and not quite as good as armon's. i like my homefries in actual pieces and brown and crisp on the outside. i ordered a short stack of hotcakes which were large in circumference but flat like a coin. they were a bit mushy as well, which i didn't mind and were very filling. i could only finish one and gave the other two to my hubby. the taste was pretty bland. the place itself had a cozy feel to it and there is ample parking. only bummer is that it's cash only. at least i tried it so i know what to make of it, but i will not be in any rush to come back. i will stick to my regulars around eagle rock which are better and worth the money and quality. Pros: parking, quick service on weekdays, large portions Cons: expensive coffee, a little pricey for value of food
