Review content:
I had a terrible experience with Colonial Roofing of Austin. Colonial Roofing of Austin installed a metal roof on my house. The roof is covered with ugly ""oil canning"" over the entire roof (""oil canning"" is the term to describe dents in metal - what would see if you deformed the surface of a soda can) I spoke with Colonial Roofing of Austin before they installed the roof and told them that I wanted to minimize the chances of ""oil canning"". They said they had experience in installing metal roofs and convinced me to purchase a thicker and more expensive thickness of metal to prevent ""oil canning"". They did say that some oil canning was possible but that by using the more expensive metal, it would be minimized to smallest extent possible. Shortly after the installation, the entire roof was covered with ""oil canning"". More ""oil canning"" than I have ever seen on any roof - commercial or residential. Every panel on every roof surface is covered with ""oil canning"" I called Colonial Roofing of Austin out to look at the roof and to my amazement; they stated that the problem is with my house! They say the roof structure is to blame. This makes no sense as the roof is of two vintages - one part from the original construction and another from a renovation done approx 7 years ago. And the original roof is the same age and construction as almost all the roofs in my neighborhood, many with metal roofs that have no ""oil canning"". You would also think that if my roof structure was inadequate, they could have determined this before or during the installation - which they did not. When I discussed possible solutions with Colonial Roofing of Austin, they said they could re-build the roof structure and put on a new roof - at my cost ! As you would probably agree, having the company that put on such a terrible roof do even more work is a totally unacceptable solution. So now Colonial Roofing of Austin has my money - and by the way, a metal roof is 3 to 4 times more expensive than a shingle roof - and I have a terrible looking roof. So much for their promise of ""Colonial Roofing of Austin's sales team will oversee all projects to your satisfaction"" So that’s my terrible experience with Colonial Roofing of Austin. I hope that my experience proves useful if you are trying to choose a quality, experienced roofing company that will stand behind their work. I will never use Colonial Roofing again!
