The Uptown Downtown celebrated it's 20th year of fashion for both men and women on Dec. 14th 2007.The eclectic mix of modern to ultra funky/cool clothing, house wears, gift items and not to mention beautiful jewelry and retro threads closed it's doors on Sunday Feb. 17th 2008.It was a place that was more than a store it was an experience.Owner Elizabeth Batson Chalk took pride in 10+ customer service with a smile. The store made it's mark for it's artistic and sub cultured environment since it opened it's doors in 1987.Expect Mrs.Batson Chalk to take it to the next level when she makes her personal clothing line available to the public. It is sure to be a look into the past present and future of fashion with a unique mix and pizazz that was reflective of her beloved boutique that was downtown. We will love and miss your store Elizabeth good luck with your future endeavors.[''] Pros: a staple for fashion savvy trendy sub cultured clients and shoppers Cons: closed
