I totally agree with the first review. This place is so screwed up I don't see how it's still open.I know first hand about the abuse that happens in this place I thought after 10yrs. it would have gotten better but apparently not.
I know for a fact that a nurse would give a juvenile patients unsubscribed xanax just so they would not act out.I also know that male staff members would have intimate relationships with female juvenile patients.
All this did happen a long time ago and I'm sure that some of these people do not work there anymore,but there will always be other staff to take that place.
After my experience of having a friend that was admitted to this place recently I can tell you that nothing has changed.Everything that was said in the first review by brucegrimm is absolutely correct .
I only met one person there that was nice, would answer my questions ,and would return my phone calls in a timely manner and that was the patient advocate.The case worker (Dana),the charge nurse(would not give me her name on unite F)where the most rudest, unconcerned,and unprofessional people I have ever spoken with in this line of work.
I feel so sorry for the patients there most of them do not have insurance and can not go anywhere else.It's a shame that mentally ill people have to go threw that and live there.I don't understand how they expect anyone to get better.The logic is (this came directly from a staff member )Is hopefully their experience here will be bad enough that the patient will think before they have problem again.
