Review content:
We went to Stimson Green Mansion last night for their Wedding Open House; we are getting married this year and we're looking for the ""right"" venue... y'know the one that says ""Ah, yes, this is the place we want to celebrate our love and tie the knot"". Well, we may have found it at ""The Mansion"". It's a house (mansion) built in 1899 so it's got lots of history (and maybe a ghost or two?!!), charm, character... if only the walls could talk! When you rent the venue, you get the WHOLE HOUSE, not just a ""room"". They have their own catering team which we find to be a plus (one less thing to worry about planning). The food at the Open House is one of their regularly-offered menus - and let me tell you, it was FANTASTIC! There were carnivorous and vegetarian offerings, so there is something for everyone! There is a ""back porch"" where they set up the bartender table. The bedrooms upstairs are perfect for the Bride and Groom parties to get ready. The Dining Room is elegant and large. You have several options as to where you want to have the ceremony and they will work with you and provide suggestions. Dark (?cherry) wood, large fireplaces... it's just charming. There is a ""game room"" with a gorgeous pool table; I don't know if that is extra. You could host almost any event here and feel comfortable. It might not be for the ""younger"" crowd (those in their 20's), but you never know until you look. Pros: Great ambience, food and service; lots of charm and character Cons: Nearby underground limited parking garage (50 spaces); it's in the middle of a neighborhood on First Hill
