Review content:
The staff is reasonably knowledgeable and always on hand, but often not helpful or really even courteous. \r \r The rooms are small and the accommodations meager.\r \r Room service is not available. (However, 3 catered meals are available free-of-charge for all guests each day.) \r \r There is no housekeeping staff.\r \r There is no swimming pool, sauna, or Jacuzzi.\r \r Although each room has its own wash basin and toilet, there are only two showers available for each set of 10 rooms. (The toilets are often affectionately referred to as ?chrome thrones."")\r \r The windows in every room are so narrow they obstruct what might otherwise be a pleasant lakeside view.\r \r The late check out time is generous, but the process is often a hassle and usually very time consuming.\r \r \r There are not any rooms available where smoking is permitted. \r \r On a more positive note, one thing they truly excel at is security.\r \r Bottom Line:\r Most folks would probably be a lot happier at the Marriott or Ramada Inn or even a KOA campground. In fact, my observation is that few--if any--of the guests at DLYC had actually intended to be there. It?s likely that most who stay there do so only as a last resort, perhaps having encountered a snafu with their reservations elsewhere, or some other kind of last minute change-of-plan that somehow doesn?t allow any other option.
