Review content:
After writing countless letters to the administration at the Care Center of Rossmoor (CCR), they refuse to provide the minimum care for my 84-year old father who has Alzheimer’s. Because of their negligence, my father was hospitalized as a result of SEVERE dehydration. He almost died! My young daughter found him on Sunday, June 13th slumped to the side in his wheelchair. A few hours later, he was rushed to the hospital. Note: On June 9th, I sent a letter CCR asking them to provide minimum care. They refuse to respond to my letter. This nursing home fails to act in Good Faith. I do not want my father to die because of their neglect. Note: Dan Noyes televised a story of a woman who had same problems with another nursing home. Unfortunately, she gave up and took her daughter’s life including her own. In her memory, please help! \r ______________________\r Tom Wood, Director of Operations\r 1201 Marina Village Parkway, Suite 302\r Alameda, California 94501\r Subject: (Copy of email sent on 06-09-10) \r \r Tom Wood:\r Since October 2008, I have spoken with several administrators and staff at CCR about many life-threatening situations that I have observed while my father, has been living there. During that time, I have also written many letters, which address issues from gross neglect to unethical conduct. I have collected hundreds of pictures and videos that support my claims.\r \r Although I have expressed my concerns in both verbal and written communication, it appears that the CCR administrators and staff avoid/fail addressing: \r \r • Accountability measures to ensure that CNAs are performing their prescribed duties\r \r •Supervision and training for CNAs on competent patient care\r \r • Quality control management to ensure that CNAs are meeting daily and hourly protocol\r \r •Performance reviews for CNAs, allowing residents and their families to participate\r \r • Integrated healthcare communication \r When visiting my father, I usually seek opportunities to assist both nurses and CNAs in basic competencies as they relate to my father. I do so because in the past, CCR is usually short staffed. Rarely are CNAs allowed to effectively (and fully) perform their duties without being pushed by the nurse to “hurry up to assist another patient” (see letters on file). More information is available...\r \r NOTE: Mr. Wood NEVER responeded to my letter. This is typical at this nursing home. \r \r Can some please help? This nursing home causes harm to their residence. \r Cons: BIG focus on the Bottom LINE; Not patient care
