I spent 2 days back and forth on the phone negotiating the price of a Beetle. I live several hours from this dealership and didn't want to go there until I got the price I wanted. Once we agreed on price, I had an independent mechanic check out the car. The convertible top wouldn't work and the back window had a small piece of cardboard tucked in it holding it up ! This was after I had been told by the salesman that they do a thorough multi point inspection and that the car was in great shape. No one offered to do anything about it. I called later and spoke with the manager, Eric, thinking he would want to know. He told me he knew it was missing one module, and that it needed two. He gave no reason, no apology, as to why they didn't tell us it was not working before I came in. Obviously they had every intention of selling it to us knowing it was broken. Since this happened I checked this company out. Turns out they are not accredited with the BBB and 30 complaints have been filed against them since 2010. 16 for product and service issues. Most of the complaints against them go unanswered. I asked for the owners name and email and Eric told me he can't give out email but I can send it to him and he'll forward it to the owner, Chuck Bien. Right. This is why we should all check with the BBB before not after !
