I earned my black belt in 2001 with a school in Ormond Beach that is no longer operating. The last time I trained was in 2004. I was completely out of shape but wanted to get back to Tae Kwon Do. I have seen this school many times while driving over the bridge into the historic district, so I decided to stop in and see what they had to offer. I can not begin to tell you how impressed I am with the staff and students. They welcomed me with open arms and are working with me to get back in shape, learn my forms, and get acclimated again to training. I have had classes with Master Holanchuck (the head instructor, 5th degree black belt) and he is extremely knowledgeable and patient. The class I mostly attend is on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and it is a great cardio workout with Shari Toregrossa (4th degree black belt). I have been only attending for about six weeks and I have lost 7 pounds, feel great, and already feel like a member of the family at North Florida Martial Arts. I have trained in the martial arts on and off since I was in high school. This is an excellent school and I don't give a recommendation like this lightly. I earned my black belt under Korean instructors that learned and taught in South Korea. If you want to learn Tae Kwon Do and the tradition of respect and humility that comes with this discipline, this is the school to enroll in.
